Traffic Guidance Sheme

Traffic Guidance Schemes

What is a Traffic Guidance Scheme (TGS)?

Previously Traffic Control Plan (TCP)

Any undertaking that requires a road closure requires efficient and effective traffic management – it’s an essential part of any project.

Gone are the days of working in the street without a traffic plan and permit. If you’ve ever dealt with local Councils or Government bodies, then you will be familiar with the level of red tape involved in securing road permits and traffic control approvals. We work closely with Councils, Police, Transport for NSW and STA so we know the kind of extensive paperwork and procedures they require.

As a result, we will design traffic plans with approved permits granted.

There’s no need to risk heavy fines or project shutdowns. We will provide you with an expert consultant who will prepare, review and modify your individual traffic management plan – so you can focus on what you do best.

Whether this is your first time needing our help or you’re an experienced contractor, we can offer a full service including consultants, detailed CAD drawings, Australian standard signs and safety equipment and implementation of your job at all levels.

So before your project gets bogged down in bureaucracy and comes to a grinding halt, call us here at Riverina Traffic Services Pty Ltd – we’ll help you.

Our expert project consultants will work with you to deliver successful planning and permit approval for the implementation of any traffic requirement.

Here are some of the Requirements you will need before you begin your project:

  • Obtaining encroachment / street use permits
  • Submitting evidence of required liability insurance documentation
  • Negotiation with local Councils, or state Government
  • Possibly attending special meetings such as City Council
  • Occupational Safety & Health (OSH) training
  • Companies and organisations that carry out work on State Highways or Local Roads are required to comply with State Transport Authorities and City Councils
  • All activities on the road must comply standard codes of practice
  • Your organisation is required to have a traffic management plan (TMP) for your activities

"Failing to follow these guidelines could result in prosecution if workers or the public are injured, or a fatality occurred while undertaking work or participating in an event."
